Kathmandu: Behind the Scenery, Northern Territory, Australias Outback

Kathmandu partners with Tourism NT For this year’s summer catalogue shoot, we joined up with Tourism NT to help us organise an amazing trip to the Northern Territory. The Northern Territory is one of the world’s ultimate destinations when it comes to adventures in the great outdoors. From the tropical north to the more extreme seasons of the Red Centre, you can scale rocky escarpments, travel from sand dunes to monsoon forests and finish the day in your own private plunge pool at the base of a waterfall. Nature lovers will find campsites beyond their wildest dreams – by waterfalls and gorges, in rainforests and World Heritage-listed National Parks and on desert mountain ranges where surreal palettes of colours defy imagination. We put our Kathmandu gear to the ultimate road test on the Summer ‘08 shoot. See our catalogue now www.kathmandu.com.au To start planning your trip, visit http

National Geographic: Steve Strike, Outback Photographer

Outback photographer, Steve Strike, lives in the heart of Australia, Alice Springs. He’s made his life out of capturing the Red Centre’s most isolated and colourful destinations on film. His subjects are charismatic Thorny Devils, hopping Black-footed Rock Wallabies, plunging chasms and rainbow-coloured cliff faces. This National Geographic video provides a window into his life, and the job he loves.
